East Cape has some of New Zealand’s most pristine, virgin bush and the National forest parks of Ruatoria, Raukumara, Urutawa and Waioeka offer numerous walking tracks from short strolls to swimming spots along a river to extended challenging hikes up mountains and through gorges. You might even enjoy a hike to a remote beach inaccessible by road. The common denominator of most walking tracks here are the amazing views.
